Living our fast paced, modern lives, many of us have lost sight of the fundamental importance of self-care; filling your cup so that you have enough in your tank to tackle life's every day challenges. The aim at Hope Cottage Beauty is to replenish the soul just a little, create the opportunity for time, to take a breath and re-fill that cup. Whether you are coming for a quick gel nail treatment (good nails are the equivalent of a suit of armour in my book !) or a much needed and deserved pamper session, I will provide a complete experience to squeeze every last drop of indulgence out of the treatment, all with beautiful products and little touches that will help re-energise you and set you back out to face the world refreshed and re-invigorated !
In addition to the day to day needs of our clients, one of the main elements of our philosophy of self care, is understanding the importance of massage and physical touch and embracing the ancient practices of the East.
In India, the traditional healing system of Ayurvedic medicine also prescribed massage for a variety of conditions using aromatic oils. Ayur-Veda is a code of life and it deals with salvation, soul, purpose of life, maintenance of mental health and the prevention and treatment of diseases. Aristotle argued that physical touch is the most fundamental to wellbeing of all the 5 senses.

Once you have re-grounded, finish the ritual by relaxing, taking in the stunning views and benefiting from drinking a Mauli Triphala tonic. This brain and beauty alchemy soothes the digestive system, supports restful sleep and restores skin, mind and body equilibrium.

Ayurvedic Head Massage
A beautiful head, scalp, shoulder and face ritual to balance the mind and nervous system.
Warm oils are used to stimulate and then soothe the head, helping to contribute to the relief of headaches, stress, insomnia, fatigue and sinusitis and helping to improve concentration, memory, quality of sleep and energy levels.
The deep massage provides a relaxing effect, decreasing mental and physical exhaustion and easing tension from the shoulders up.

Mauli Palan Poshan Karna Ritual Facial
'To Nurture'
A luxurious and comprehensive facial ritual, focusing on breathwork and mindfulness.
A double deep cleanse to beautifully clean the skin starts the re-balancing process. An aromatherapy steam and Mysore sandalwood and Kashmiri Saffron exfoliation, diminishes scars and pigmentation. A dosha balancing Vata oil is used to massage the face, decolletage, neck and upper back to decompress anxiety, improve cell renewal and aid circulation.
A radiance mask is then applied to draw out impurities and strengthen the skin. Whilst the mask works its magic, enjoy a tension relieving head and foot massage.
Refreshing and tightening toner and deeply nourishing serum are then applied to conclude.

A little bit about Hope Cottage Beauty and Wellness
My name is Kerry McNair and I am the owner of Hope Cottage Beauty and Wellness Retreat.
I started my career in property and construction and established a successful property development company and portfolio with my husband. In 2007, much to our surprise (I am still not sure what we were thinking !), we bought a small country estate that we established as a wedding and events venue, until we sold it in 2022.
After selling the estate, and after many years of working in a highly stressful and very masculine environment, I was burned out, miserable and adrift. As I hurtled full throttle into my mid-life crisis, I took a little time out and seized the opportunity to reflect on the direction that my life was heading. It was during this time, inspired and spurred on by a dream my Sister and I had had for many years, and with the encouragement of my husband and two little girls, I decided to go back to college and get my Level 2 and 3 VTCT qualifications in beauty, nails and complimentary therapy, so I could start my own little haven; combining beauty and wellness from within, with quality service, knowledge and performance.
I am very proud and somewhat shocked (as much of the time I can't remember my own name !) to have thrived with distinction in each area of my qualifications.
So here I am, 47 years old, setting up a new business, in a completely new direction but one that I am so, so passionate about. I am excited to invite you along on my journey and I am so grateful for all your support.
